Who we are

Hi, I’m Kelsey! I’m a travel writer, freelance journalist and content marketing manager from Manchester, UK. I started Magenta Adventures initially as a personal project driven by my passion and travel experiences. Since then, I strengthened my knowledge in the journalism field while completing my Master’s in International Journalism and working and interning as a freelance travel writer. 

My mission transformed after receiving several questions such as “How do you afford to travel?” “How do you know where to visit?” and “How do you book your trips?” Over time, I noticed that sharing the ‘best part of our lives’ on social media is common,  but there is secrecy behind how we achieve what we do.

I didn’t come from money and didn’t go abroad until I was 16. Since my first family holiday just after finishing my GCSEs at 16 years old, I knew that this was what I wanted to do, and as a result of that, I have travelled to many countries across different continents. I think a common misconception about those who travel is that they have lived a privileged and affluent life which has allowed them to travel. I want to show that this isn’t the case. 

I want my writing, and other writers of Magenta Adventures, to inspire and educate others on the world of travel. Focusing on all things from luxury travel to budget trips, I share my experiences, reviews, tips and must-see destinations.
